Lifechart, India’s leading full-stack gut wellness brand, has successfully closed $500,000 in funding to fuel the expansion of its AI-driven solutions for gut health. Prajay Advisors LLP led the funding round. Other investors include Agility Ventures, Expert Dojo, and angel investors like Ahana Gautam, Nitish Mittersain (Founder of Nazara Technologies Pvt. Ltd.), Sarath Sura (Founder of Sunn91 Ventures), and Marwari Angels. It is a giant leap in Lifechart’s journey toward scaling operations and upgrading cutting-edge AI capabilities.
Founded to solve India’s ever-increasing gut health issues, Lifechart has already proven its impact, serving over 250,000 customers, mainly in Tier 2, 3, and 4 cities. The company’s holistic solution, from diagnosis to treatment, has made it a key player in this emerging market.
Lifechart: Tackling a Growing Gut Health Crisis
Gut health is fast emerging as the need of the hour in India, where 7 out of 10 people suffer from associated disorders, such as indigestion, constipation, fatty liver, and acidity. The international market for gut health will hit $18 billion by 2025-26 and is the wave of a new trend that Lifechart is well positioned to capitalize upon.
The company will utilize the new funds to improve Lifechart’s AI engine, predicting the geographic rise in gut diseases based on demographic factors and regional health patterns. It enables the company to offer customized solutions by understanding the specific requirements of every area. Under the new hires, Lifechart is expanding its healthcare professional network as well by recruiting 50 in-house BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) and BHMS (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery) doctors to increase expert consultations and treatment plans for under-served regions.
Besides scaling its operations in smaller cities, Lifechart is launching India’s first plant-based microbiome-focused products for Tier 1 cities. BAMS doctors will formulate these innovative, holistic solutions to induce better gut health while naturally addressing ailments such as constipation, gas, and acidity.
Improving AI for Better Diagnosis
Provided demographic and regional health information, Lifechart’s AI engine can predict which areas will likely deal with an uptick in gut health issues, thus enabling the company to deliver proactive, tailored solutions. As a result, Lifechart can target specific pockets to target communities with more productive support, improving patient outcomes while cutting healthcare costs.
Expansion of Diagnostic Kits into Tier 1 Cities and AI Enhancement
Lifechart will soon introduce proprietary solutions like home-based DIY gut health kits that empower users to get a picture of their gut health from the comfort of their homes. These kits will take a holistic approach to personalized lifestyle and diet recommendations to enhance long-term digestive health.
“Through this funding, we’ll be increasing our doctor network further, improving our AI model for better diagnosis, and opening India’s first gut wellness clinics and supermarkets in the next few years,” Mukul Shah, CEO and Co-founder of Lifechart, said. “Our customers trust us—42% is a repeat rate month on month. This new capital will enable us to accelerate our growth without compromising CM2 profitability.”.
In the future, it looks forward to having 150 gut wellness clinics at the end of the third year, providing vital infrastructure for diagnosis and treatment across urban and rural India. Lifechart will be well-focused on the issues of diagnosis and treatment regarding gut health and will separate it from the competition that is purely focused on the sale of products.
Having been profitable at CM2 for the last 12 months, Lifechart is balanced to triple its revenue next year. Discussions have already been lined up with a leading VC firm in Delhi NCR to raise an investment round of $1.5-$2 million. Once scaled, the company will be in a stronger position to drive full-stack models and continue taking the lead in gut wellness across India.
