Good Glamm Group has closed the acquisition of Sirona Hygiene

In a significant development for India’s fast-growing D2C sectors, Good Glamm Group has closed the acquisition of Sirona Hygiene, a leading feminine hygiene brand, for Rs 450 crore in an all-cash deal. This acquisition is considered among the largest for D2C startups in the Indian market, particularly given the growth in women’s health and wellness products.

Already having invested Rs 100 crore in Sirona in the previous year, the Mumbai-based Good Glamm Group is rapidly expanding its footprint across the beauty and personal care industries. With this latest deal, the company has marked a new milestone to diversify its portfolio and strengthen its foothold in the femtech space.

A New Chapter for Sirona and its Employees

Founded by Deep Bajaj and Mohit Bajaj, Sirona Hygiene has taken innovation to great heights in some novel health solutions for women. The brand’s product lineup is menstruation cups, herbal period pain patches, and PeeBuddy-stand-and-pee devices for women. The acquisition will help good Glamm Group scale operations for the brand across India and the world.

The transaction has expedited the vesting of Sirona’s Employee Stock Ownership Plan; hence, the most direct impact would be the financial gain of its employees. In this regard, while co-founders Deep and Mohit Bajaj had already stepped out as active directors earlier this year, they officially welcomed new leadership under the Good Glamm umbrella.

With Sirona being an integral part of the Good Glamm Group, the brand is expected to gain more profound innovation and reach. On aligning both companies’ visions, Darpan Sanghvi, founder of Good Glamm Group, mentioned, “We share a common goal of empowering women through innovative and accessible health solutions.” The brand will now shoot to new heights with its newly found resources in Sirona’s pioneering products and Good Glamm.

What Is The Story Behind This Mission?

Sirona has been providing a lot to the feminine hygiene segment for centuries. This firm’s products have addressed all those traditional issues about women’s health and hygiene, and its work in breaking taboos surrounding menstruation and hygiene has left an impact of its own. Its product lines, from menstrual cups to anti-chafing rash creams and much more, aim at different levels of women, such as puberty, menopause, etc.

In addition to what the company offers, Sirona has made tremendous strides toward feminist hygiene and women’s education. The brand also introduced India’s first WhatsApp period tracker and colored the digital space with its app. Of course, this is beside over 100,000 girls educated on menstrual hygiene by the Sirona Foundation and over 10,000 free menstrual cups given to underprivileged women.

This acquisition is much more than a milestone in money; it symbolizes growth and the evolution of the femtech space in India. Under the Good Glamm Group, Sirona will likely remain at the zenith of innovation related to women’s health and advance the lively conversation regarding feminine hygiene and wellness worldwide
